Reviews From Past Clients

"Devin is so incredibly talented and created the most magical keepsake from our wedding day!

She was so accommodating to work with and made our vision come to life. Our guests were amazed watching her progress throughout the night and the final product came out even better than we could have imagined! I highly recommend Devin to anyone who is looking for a unique way to remember their wedding day!"

Madison

"Words cannot describe how talented, professional and kind Devin is!

My sister surprised us with Devin as a wedding gift (10/10 would recommend doing this for someone you love!) and everyone has not stopped talking about her! She is amazing to watch in action and it was a fun experience for my guests. Not only is it a cool experience to add to your wedding, the painting itself…it’s unreal. Devin’s work is almost life like/a photograph. I couldn’t believe how much it really looked like us!"

Hayley

"Devin was extremely professional and very easy to work with.

I hired her as a gift for my brother's wedding. She added a fun, unique dimension to the reception, as she painted all through the night. There was a constant buzz about her work! The painting at the end turned out better than I could've imagined. A true work of art, capturing a beautiful moment that tells a story a picture never could. It was the perfect, one of a kind, gift. I would hire her again and again."

Tony

"We absolutely loved working with Devin.

From the beginning, she was professional and showed enthusiasm for completing our painting. It was amazing to have her at the wedding venue and work on the painting in front of all of our guests who were amazed at her work! After our wedding, she followed up with clear timelines and we knew exactly what to expect in terms of different editing options. We highly recommend Devin!"

Katrina

"If you want a unique and unforgettable experience at your wedding - don't hesitate and book her!

She captured our first kiss and it was so special to have her painting the scene live for our guests to watch and interact with her. The final product came out better than we could have imagined, and you can tell she pours her heart into each painting."

Kelsey

"Devin is hands down one of the most talented and sweetest people I’ve met.

She completed a live wedding painting for us March 11, 2023, and her talent was worth every penny and then some! She even was so eager to add our two pups in when we asked. We got so many compliments from family and friends about her work throughout the day. She then hand delivered the finished product to us— we can’t wait to hang it as a reminder of our day for years to come."

Alyssa

"I hired Devin to paint my daughter and new son in law's wedding and I am so happy I did!

From the first moment I reached out to her she was enthusiastic, professional, informative and very prompt with her correspondence. The day of the wedding she made herself available to all the guests for conversation and questions while diligently working on the painting of the newly married couple. Devin delivered the completed painting in a very reasonable time and it came out gorgeous!"

The Live Wedding Painting Portfolio

The accurate and detailed rendering of individuals will always be my highest priority. You may choose your most anticipated location, pose, or moment from the wedding day, a mixture of several moments, or an entirely unique scene.

The options are as vast as your imagination allows. As I witness the event, I take in every detail you’ve thoughtfully implemented into your day. The way the light hits the scenery, the detail within your expressions, and the saturation of the moment, are masterfully composed into a bright and charming representation of your unique vision!

Confirming Availability

Please confirm your venue and event date before heading on over to my inquiry form! Include essential details about yourselves, your event, and your vision. I will reach out to either confirm my availability for your date and provide next steps or recommend local artists for you to continue your search. Either way, inquiring with me is a win!

02

Discovering your Vision

Woo Hoo! I’m available for your date! You’ve received the Live Painting Guide, and have reviewed the offerings. Next, you’ll complete the Questionnaire and schedule our phone or Zoom consultation. We’ll have the opportunity to chat and get to know one another, discussing your painting vision, and important day-of considerations.

03

Securing Your Date

After our call, you’ll receive your contract and invoice. Signing the contract and paying the 25% deposit will confirm your booking and secure my live painting service for your wedding or event!

04

Pre-Wedding Check-In

Three months prior to your event, I will reach out via email to confirm the details determined during our initial consultation. If further discussion is needed, we’ll schedule a second call at this check-in period. I connect with your event coordinator at this time to exchange information and my COI (Certificate of Insurance) and to establish a game plan for a successful evening of painting.

05

Elevating your Event Experience

Today is the big day! Because we’ve predetermined the vision, my location, and logistics, you get to relax and be in the moment as I bring your vision to life. If you’ve requested a mini-photoshoot for a specific pose, I will work quickly and kindly to capture your pose, confirming the reference with you during the reception. Curious guests may watch or conversate with me as I work, and they may even add a small detail of their own! At the end of my service, I will present you with the progress, then I will return to the studio with the artwork to be touched up.

06

Post-Wedding Check-Ins

Depending on my volume of work, you can expect to hear from me within 2-8 weeks of your event to discuss the direction of the painting, share final photos, and confirm your approval of the final work!

07

Final Steps

Once approved, I have your painting professionally photographed at my local print shop. I provide you with a high-quality image of your painting, as well as the option to purchase fine art prints for family and friends. (Or maybe you love it so much you want a second!) I’ll reach out to coordinate delivery within 1 hour of my location, or to confirm your shipping address. Voilá, the live painting process is complete, and you are now the proud owner of a unique heirloom, capturing your vision, and allowing you to reminisce through every thoughtful brushstroke. Typically, turnaround time from start to finish is 6-8 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Where are you located and how far can you travel for my event?

I am located in North Shore Massachusetts. While the majority of my events are in the New England area: Massachusetts (MA), New Hampshire (NH), Vermont (VT), Maine (ME), Connecticut (CT), and Rhode Island (RI) … I am absolutely willing to work with you to paint anywhere in the world.

•  Coast to Coast U.S. Travel for events over 5 hours away from Northshore Massachusetts begins at $1,000 and varies based on location, time of year, and length of stay.

•  International Travel outside of the U.S. begins at $1,500 and varies based on location, time of year, and length of stay.

What is included in the price?

For 2025 events, the starting price of $2,650 includes:

  • 50 miles of travel included

What can I expect for turnaround time?

Following the wedding or event, your painting will be completed in my studio typically within 4-8 weeks, and delivered to you typically within 5-10 weeks.

I work diligently to stay within my typical turnaround time. However it is subject to change depending on uncontrollable factors such as illness or injury, natural disaster, etc.

We’re looking to hire you as a group gift, how does that process work?

Oftentimes bridesmaids, groomsmen, or family members will split the cost of the live painting as a group gift to the newlyweds.

  • First of all, how thoughtful! They’re going to LOVE this unique experience and gift.
  • Second, you can expect a similar process, but I may share communications with multiple email addresses if you provide them in your inquiry.
  • The contract and Invoice must be signed and paid by one person, decided amongst yourselves.
  • If this is a surprise for the couple, you may decide the vision for their painting, or you may leave it up to me.

How do you accept payment?

I offer my clients multiple secure payment services. You may pay with a Credit Card via Stripe, PayPal, or Venmo. I also accept checks or cash for final payments made at the time of delivery/pickup.

What is needed from the venue?

All I need is access to power to plug in my easel light and device chargers. I bring all the necessary supplies with me to the event. I work closely with venue/event coordinators to prepare set-up space, arrival time, and other logistics prior to the event.

You’re booked for my date/I already got married.

No worries! If your date is unavailable or you already had your wedding, I periodically open my commissions throughout the year and would love to create a wedding painting for you using photo(s) from your day!

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes! Devin Tormey Art is a registered business with the appropriate liability insurance to operate inside wedding venues. I automatically send a copy of my COI to your event or venue coordinator 3 months before your event.

Do you offer prints?

Yes! I offer Giclée Canvas Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints. Once you’re booked with me, I will share my pricing guide for each option.

Do you offer framing?

At this time I do not offer framing services. My finished works have painted edges and can stand presentably without a frame, or they may be brought to a frame shop of your choice for all your framing desires. I’ll include my local frame shop recommendations once you’re booked with me!

*Note that traditional (7/8”) thick canvases are preferable for framing, and gallery-wrapped (1 1/2”) thick canvases are preferable to present without a frame, or with a more grand frame.
